Bommie Jars
For Kurts Bommie Jar range was inspired by the natural colours and textures. Drawing from experiences on reefs, Kurt has hand thrown each vessel in the classic moon jar shape, then added textures using different techniques to create the reef bommie effects on each unique piece.
Kurts glazes are blended to create different finishes that create their own effects. His opal glaze catches the colours and tries to mimic the growth of colour found in the ocean. His crater glaze recreates the encrusting textures found on rocks and coral skeletons.
